Why La Chiocciolina (la-khee-ot-cho-lee-na)? 

A good friend in college used the @ symbol as a shorthand for her initial AT in writing. She liked the idea and started to use it herself and it proved to be quite convenient.  Soon enough other friends started recognizing the @ symbol as her signature symbol. 

When she was thinking of creating a brand for her jewelry, the familiar @ symbol came to her mind.  However, too many people have used it and it's considered to be a public property.  She thought that there must be something else that she could still do with the @ symbol to create her logo. 

While learning Italian in preparation for her study in Florence, Italy, Atty came across the word La Chiocciolina by chance.  There are two meanings for this word-- the @ symbol AND a small snail.  The light bulb went on in her head.  Why not use the word La Chiocciolina and combine the two meanings together into a logo?

And the rest is history.
